Mission of h₂o

We are focused on turning students at The Ohio State University into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Our dream is to see leaders developed who will go on to influence the city of Columbus and the rest of the world.

Ministry Approach of h₂o

Our plan is to see God raise up a vibrant evangelical church right on the heart of the OSU campus. It will be a church that reaches the lost, raises up leaders and sends them throughout the world to live out the Great Commission. The ultimate goal is to be a Spirit-led church, where Christ is incarnated in our daily lives. As we live out this mission, we will focus on four primary missions: initiating a dynamic worship service on campus, establishing a close-knit small group community, investing in a culture of developing young student leaders, and committing to fresh and consistent outreach on campus and focus on the Great Commission.

Worship Service

Creating an experience that will deepen our relationship with God through contemporary worship and real-life stories, plus solid biblical teachings of Christian truth that demonstrates the relevance of the Bible for everyday living. It will be a relaxed, come as you are, atmosphere where facades are torn down, and real life is emphasized.

Small Group Community

We believe that the Bible paints a picture of the church that is inspiring and highly relational, and so our small group community is truly the core of h₂o. True life transformation can occur if men and women experience more than weekly attendance at a meeting, but get involved in authentic community. A community of men and women who love one another genuinely, grow together in maturity through encouragement and team together for a glorious mission. Our groups are safe places to bring up any opinion or question on spirituality. Come as you are. You are welcome no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. Leadership Community

Training the next generation of church leaders is an important aspect of our mission. Leadership Community (LC) is our church-wide group dedicated to in-depth teaching, discipleship, and worship. LC is part exhortation and part instruction, while being completely focused on raising up sincerely devoted members of the body of Christ.

Outreach

We desire to be a church that engages the campus and our community with an authentic picture of Jesus Christ. We seek to live this out through a consistent focus on evangelism and community service.
